Just an update for the last several months.
The Ibrance I’ve been taking for the past seven months has kept my cancer relatively stable but I did receive some not so good news from my May 8th scan. The cancer has seemed to spread to the inside of my bladder. Doctor's wording is “re-demonstration of tethering of the right superolateral bladder dome. Interval development material within the lumen of the bladder with signal characteristics similar to the mucinous deposits within the peritoneum presumably representing mucinous deposits within the bladder lumen.” However, the good news is there is no focal defect in my bladder wall.
The same stuff is still there in other places. I still have stable small serosal deposits along the surface of my liver and there are still numerous mucinous deposits throughout the omentum, mesentery, retroperitoneum, and serosal surface of my bowel that have not significantly changed in size or appearance compared to most recent MRI abdomen and pelvis MRI from January 2017 or September 2016.
Basically, the new development of presumed mucinous deposits within the lumen of my bladder otherwise, stable peritoneal/retroperitoneal metastatic disease for the past seven months.
I’m in more pain though that is not easily explained and could be a few things. I am on a few pain killers and take them a few times a day.
I have had some fun this year. I got my tattoo recolored and went skiing with a friend. Sharette and I went to the Elvis Lives show. I went to Comic Con in Salt Lake City with my family and when we got back we went swimming at a mountain hot springs. Sharette and I went to Ohio and did a Wright Brothers tour day in Dayton and the US Air Force Museum too. Then a friend of mine who I was stationed with in Iraq got us into two Cubs vs. Reds games in Cincinnati where the Cubs won both games.
I've also done a few chores and projects around the house.
Up next is James and Joey’s graduations, a trip to Hawaii with my family, having both boys start at Boise State University and then for my wedding anniversary, Sharette and I will go back to San Diego to see my specialist and find out if Ibrance is still working and how bad my bladder has advanced with disease. We will stay a few extra days there to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks to everyone for the help and prayers along the way.
