Sharette and I headed to San Diego on the 10th of September for Scans, an appointment with the specialist, and to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. First, the scan results were given to us by my specialist. There are still numerous heterogeneous mucinous deposits throughout my abdomen a pelvis. There are amorphous soft tissue serosal implants with mass effect on my stomach. Thick rind of soft tissue is also seen associated with multiple small and large bowels loops, with slight increased thickening from May’s scan. They saw diffused peritoneal thickening. Some of my bigger tumors are about the size of flat tennis balls. The serosal deposits along my liver are relatively unchanged. This time my bile duct is enlarged but apparently it was last time. It is most likely from adjacent intra-abdominal disease. My bladder still shows tethering of the right superlateral aspect. Basically, my disease is extensive but has only changed minimally in the last 4 months. There is involvement with my liver, stomach, small bowel, and large bowel. There is a thick rind of soft tissue associated with multiple small and large bowel loops, most noted in the left upper quadrant, slightly increased in thickness from my prior exam.
On Monday I will start my 35th round of chemo (still on Ibrance) and will take that for at least another 4 months. My next trip to see the specialist will be in January.
Since my last update, several fun/necessary things have happened too. My youngest son graduated high school and my oldest got his associates degree. We went to Hawaii, my sons started at Boise State University (my oldest son and I got on the blue field), we spread my grandma’s ashes at Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado, we saw the eclipse, we spent time with friends and family and I met some other people with my disease and got to visit. We even had some old friends stop and stay over when they were passing through Idaho, and we went and saw the hot air balloons when they were here in town. Last but not least, Sharette and I got to spend our 26th wedding anniversary together.
