When I saw my specialist, we discussed another surgery which will eventually need to be done as my cancer (tumors) have grown a bit more again. Overall, most of my tumors increased by about 10%-12% over the last 6 months. The treatment drugs I am on are slowing down the cancer quite a bit but it’s still growing. I will continue to deal with being uncomfortable and dealing with the discomfort and pain with medications until its just too hard to get through the day or until the tumor growth causes problems and at either of those two points, I will have another debulking surgery to get out as much of the cancer as possible and relieve some of my discomfort. I am just trying to time it so I can extend my life as much as possible. I am thankful to have a specialist who is ready and willing to help me each step of the way.
For the most part, the cancer is all over my peritoneal cavity but what was noted on my MRI are multiple hyperintense soft tissue deposits are seen again, small hydrocele in my pelvis. I still have tethering of the right superolateral aspect on my bladder, and my lesions (tumors) grew 3-4mm in both measured directions
I will return to see my specialist and the new doctor in July for another scan and follow-up unless something requires immediate attention between now and then.
The last 6 months have been met with mostly good times with family and friends. Sharette and I spent our 27th wedding anniversary in Kauai, we had a great Thanksgiving and Christmas with family and friends and did some golfing too. Sadly, a couple of my friends (good and young people) lost their life to cancer.
2019 plans are a few local trips and events and then hopefully Disneyland in May.
